Position Summary We are seeking enthusiastic, flexible, and reliable Substitute Instructional Assistants to join our team. Substitute Instructional Assistants in CCS are essential partners who work alongside classroom teachers to support student learning, reinforce instruction, and assist with classroom management. You will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, structured, and engaging educational environment where every student can thrive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to deliver instruction to individual students or small groups.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and classroom support strategies.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment where all students feel respected and valued.
• Help monitor student progress and communicate observational feedback to teaching staff.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and hallway transitions.
• Perform administrative and classroom preparation tasks as needed to support smooth daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support student growth and school success.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth program setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and student success.
Work Environment
• Primary work is performed within school settings, including classroom environments, cafeteria, auditorium, and active school facilities.
• Position involves regular movement across school grounds, including supervising outdoor recess, cafeteria spaces, and hallways.
• Requires physical agility to assist children, including standing for extended periods, bending, walking, and occasionally lifting or supporting up to 30 pounds.
• Daily interactions involve collaborating with teachers, administrators, school specialists, and a diverse student body.
