Senior Buyer

We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization that designs and builds highly engineered products for customers across North America. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys owning the purchasing process from supplier selection through delivery while working closely with engineering and operations.
What You'll Do
As the Senior Buyer, you'll play a critical role in keeping manufacturing operations running efficiently by sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring products arrive on time and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, fabricated parts, and production supplies
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic suppliers while identifying new sourcing opportunities
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, lead times, freight terms, and contracts
• Issue and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Shipping, and Quality to support manufacturing schedules
• Resolve supplier shortages, expedite critical materials, and proactively address supply chain disruptions
• Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance to identify cost savings and process improvements
• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to support operational efficiency
• Support ERP-driven purchasing processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as a key contributor in driving supplier accountability, quality, and long-term partnerships
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience purchasing manufactured components, machined parts, raw materials, castings, fabrication, MRO, or similar industrial products
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of reducing costs and improving supplier performance
• Experience working within ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, JobBoss, etc.)
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
• Associate's degree or equivalent industry experience

Compensation & Benefits
• $70,000–$80,000 base salary
