POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Substitute Group Fitness Instructor, Council on Aging
SUMMARY:
Under the Direction of the Program Manager, the substitute steps in when our regular instructors are absent to deliver safe, high quality, and motivating workouts. You will ensure our members never miss a beat and receive a consistent, excellent fitness experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· LEAD WORKOUTS: Teach pre-planned or custom group fitness classes with high energy.
· ENSURE SAFETY: Explain proper form, demonstrate movements, and correct alignment.
· ADAPT ROUTINES: Provide modifications for all fitness levels (beginners to advanced)
· WELCOME MEMBERS: Greet Participants, build rapport and maintain a positive studio culture.
· MANAGE ROOM: Arrive 15 minutes early to set up music, and check equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Experience teaching specific formats like Yoga/Zumba/Strength. Have worked with COA Instructors for at least three months.
· Safety: CPR/AED – MHD COA will provide training if required
· Clear projection voice and strong interpersonal skills.
· Flexible schedule with readiness to accept short-notice coverage shifts.
· Willingness to provide public service to the community; especially to senior citizens and disabled residents;
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
· Proficiency with all Microsoft word and excel software. Ability to utilize COA
