Job Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing the mechanical engineering deliverables assigned to the project, ensuring compliance with project requirements, company standards, schedule and quality objectives. The role includes performing engineering calculations, equipment selection, preparation of technical documentation and coordination with other engineering disciplines. Depending on project size and complexity, the engineer may coordinate the activities of a small engineering team assigned to the same work package.

Goals:

• Guarantee the delivery of the engineering documents package within the schedule and budget agreed with the PM;

• Coordinate the functions of the engineering team distributing the tasks and tracking the progress with attention to keep the team interacting and motivated;

• Ensure the application of highest safety standards and reduce the project impacts to the environment by organizing overall design review of the assigned projects;

• Meet / improve the project schedule;

• Meet / improve the quality standards;

• Identify and submit possibly “cost-effective” improvements in the design.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Perform duties assigned by Director/Manager/Team Leader, and ensure all duties are undertaken within the required timeframe.

• Prepare concept, basic and detail design drawings, ensuring that the design are undertaken in accordance with local codes and international standards.

• Undertake all necessary design calculations and analysis along with schematic diagrams and select appropriate equipment size.

• Liaise with other engineering disciplines as required.

• Undertake quality assurance checking of drawings and calculations produced by self.

• Ensure that all drawings are reviewed and checked before submission.

• Assist the team leader in producing the design specifications, design reports and to finalize all design calculations as required.

• Follow Company’s design procedures, professional standards/rules.

• Perform the duties under the assigned task of Team Leader within the time frame.

• Propose technical innovations to the Team Leader to improve the design.

• Assist the team leader in preparing equipment & material quantity take-off and cost estimate from the design.

• Prepare equipment & material technical schedules and submit to Team Leader for review and validation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical engineering.

• Years of experience: 3 - 5 Years Post Graduate Experience

• Previous experience working within an Engineering consulting environment, with a clear focus on design experience.

• Overall knowledge of the Industrial Plants technology about mechanical design, equipment selection, Instrument and Control design, electrical design, and civil and structure

• Advanced knowledge of design software in relation to the MEP design including , AutoCAD 2D&3D, Revit, SolidWorks, ESAPro and MS office software such as Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project & Access.

• Site inspection or supervision experience on construction projects.

• Intermediate time management and organizational skills with the ability to self-manage billable hours and ability to undertake your own work with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
