ABOUT THE ROLE This is a mobile role supporting care homes across England when local maintenance cover is unavailable. You'll work independently across a range of sites, carrying out maintenance tasks, compliance checks, and minor repairs while ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained. When maintenance cover is not required, you'll support property improvement projects, helping to deliver upgrades and enhancements across our portfolio of care homes. Key responsibilities include: Providing maintenance support across multiple care homes as required. Completing routine safety and compliance inspections, including checks on fire safety, water systems, emergency lighting, equipment, and other essential services. Carrying out general repairs and maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and building work. Training and supporting new maintenance colleagues in statutory checks and maintenance procedures. Communicating with Estates Managers regarding completed works, compliance requirements, and site updates.

Assisting with refurbishment and improvement projects, including planning, risk assessments, and material procurement. Maintaining high standards of health and safety across all work activities. You will have:
Experience in general building maintenance or a trade-related environment. Working knowledge of health and safety procedures, including manual handling and COSHH. Practical skills across a range of maintenance disciplines such as plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic electrical work. Excellent organisational and communication skills. A flexible approach and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays. The ability to prioritise tasks and work on your own initiative. A full UK driving licence.ABOUT AVERY

Qualifications Essential
Candidates should have experience in general building maintenance or a trade-related environment, working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling and COSHH, practical skills across maintenance disciplines like plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic electrical work, excellent organizational and communication skills, a flexible approach with willingness to travel extensively, and must hold a full UK driving license.
