About this role

Job summary

The Corporate Referral to Treatment Validator will assist the Trust and Divisions to deliver high quality, accurate patient data related to 18 week pathways (RTT) and/or average waits.

The post holder will support Divisions and utilise every data source available, e.g. Careflow PAS and patient notes, to clarify and confirm patients' RTT status prior to external reporting.

The post holder will be provided with key set tasks via a 'validation work program' and assigned different tasks in order to check data quality reports, validate patient pathways and amend/correct information in Careflow patient administration system against the findings.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Performance Team in Trust Services to assist Divisions with the validation of Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways and data quality checking against set national targets.

The Referral to Treatment team is responsible for tracking, reporting and monitoring of patients on their 18 week Referral to Treatment pathway, working with Specialities across the Trust ensuring accurate reporting and assisting with RTT queries.

This post will suit a team player with an enquiring mind and a methodical attention to detail. You will investigate patient delays and record information on the patient administration system; therefore, you should be comfortable working across a range of software including Microsoft Office. You should be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills to provide coherent feedback and explanatory emails.

Roles are available at both Bristol and Weston-super-Mare locations. Following a comprehensive training period your working week will be reviewed and a rota agreed relating to home and office working to suit the needs of the service.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications Essential

GCSE Grade 9-4 in English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2; certificate in Adult Literacy at Level 2)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy Effective organisational skills Effective and polite manner when dealing with people, both face to face and via email Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels within the Trust Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information Good IT skills including Microsoft packages

Desirable

A clear and comprehensive knowledge of the Referral to Treatment time standards and the key element of an Access Policy Working knowledge of outpatient policies and procedures

Experience Essential

Clerical / administrative experience, including filing and / or reception

Desirable

Previous NHS experience Experience of using a Patient Administration System Extracting performance reports or RTT related information

Personal Qualities Essential

Able to work on your own, using your own initiative Demonstrates a flexible and adaptable approach to work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
