Main duties of the job
We are looking for three enthusiastic Customer Service & Administration Apprentices to join the Outpatient Administration Centre (OAC) at University Hospital Southampton.
The OAC is a busy and supportive team at the heart of outpatient services, providing administrative and reception support to clinical teams across University Hospital Southampton, Princess Anne Hospital and Royal South Hants Hospital.
This apprenticeship offers excellent training and development opportunities, allowing you to gain valuable NHS experience while working towards a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship.

Job description Job responsibilities
Join our busy Outpatient Administration Centre and play an important role in supporting patients across the Trust. As part of your apprenticeship, you will gain valuable administration and customer service experience while working towards a recognised qualification.
In this role, you will:
Help patients by telephone, email and in person.Book, reschedule and cancel outpatient appointments.Support reception services and assist with patient enquiries.Provide administrative support to outpatient clinics.Work closely with colleagues to ensure patients receive an efficient service.
We're looking for someone who:
Has excellent communication.Is organised and able to manage a varied workload.Has good attention to detail and accuracy.Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office.Is eager to learn, develop and complete an apprenticeship qualification.
You do not need previous administration experience, although experience in a customer-facing or professional environment would be beneficial.
To be eligible, you must have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent). You will receive paid off-the-job training as part of your apprenticeship programme.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience Essential
Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE pass level 4-9 or equivalent standard NVQ 2 diploma or equivalent experience Experience of working in a customer led environment Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages Evidence of computer literacy

Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems Call handling experience Experience of working shifts.
