We are looking to recruit a Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our therapy team at Lings Bar Hospital. The focus of the hospital is to maximise and enable independence of the individual and the nature of work is fast paced.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Rehabilitation Support Worker is:
To support the clinical staff with the rehabilitation and discharge planning of patients.To work independently providing delegated therapeutic interventions on the wards.To support group rehabilitation, education and exercise sessions.To support the management of equipment provision and contribute to the MDT management of patients.To be able to work flexibly across ward.

You will need to be motivated, resourceful and committed to providing excellent interventions to older people. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of Agenda for Change Band 3. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care of equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Contractual Requirements Essential
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010. Need to be able to transport/lift equipment and materials as needed.
Experience Essential
Experience working within an older persons setting Experience of working as an assistant in treating adults with rehabilitation needs Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of prioritising workload and working under own initiative. Experience working within the NHS
Desirable
Experience of working with groups of patients in a therapeutic role.
Knowledge Essential
To have a basic understanding of common physical and mental health issues in older people To have knowledge of Equality and Diversity issues.
Desirable
To have an understanding of the roles of Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy. To have an understanding of risk assessments.
Skills Essential
Ability to demonstrate sound communication skills both verbal and written to patients, carers and staff. Ability to demonstrate good organisational skills. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the patients and the service. To have a caring, empathic and positive attitude when working with all patients, carers and colleagues.
