Job summary
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provides specialist mental health support for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health needs. The service delivers both face-to-face and video-conference assessments and interventions across four sites within the county
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Administrator/ Receptionist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated and supportive service that plays a vital role in ensuring children, young people, families, and professionals receive timely and appropriate access to CAMHS support

Main duties of the job
What you'll be doing:
Providing a high-quality administrative service within the CAMHS team
Liaising with clinicians, families, and external agencies
Contributing to the smooth, effective running of the admin office
Cover reception when required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative
Undertake reception and administration duties that are specific to the role.
Provide administrative support as required, for example typing/word processing, data inputting, filing, scanning/copying in line with Trust Policies and Procedures.
Answer/deal with both face-to-face and telephone enquiries.
Deal with incoming and outgoing mail.
Communication and Liaison
Liaise and interact with service users and colleagues, as and when required.
Answer/deal with both face-to-face and telephone enquiries in a tactful and professional manner, recording any messages accurately and passing them to the relevant individual in an appropriate and timely manner.
Obtain and retrieve records, as requested, liaising with patients, staff, health professionals or outside agencies.

Skills & Abilities Essential
Ability to challenge poor behaviour. Role modelling good behaviour. A positive attitude and able to act on feedback. Ability to praise and be supportive to others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to be polite but firm when dealing with difficult, impatient or upset people. Good level of literacy and numeracy. Standard IT skills typing, letter/email formation, creation of spreadsheets. Good organisational skills
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of clerical/office procedures and administrative systems Data inputting procedures Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Understanding of the Data Protection Act and NHS Code of Confidentiality
Experience Desirable
Recent, relevant work experience in Administration or Customer Services
Additional Criteria Essential
Willingness to commit to continuing professional development. Professional manner as a representative of the Trust. Tact and discretion for dealing with confidential information. Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role. Qualifications Essential
Educated to vocational level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or experience or Good general education with a minimum of 2 GCSEs (to include English Language) at grade 9-4 (A*-C) I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
