Sr. Job Title Specialist: Steering System: 3Wh/4Wh 1 Reporting Functional reporting to : TEAM LEADER (L3) / GROUP LEADER (L2) 2 Background i) Educational Qualification Essential: Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile. Minimum 70 % marks in Engg. Design, Mechanics, SoM, ToM Desirable: Training / Project related to Design of Automobile Suspensions, Steering, Vehicle Dynamics, GD&T ii) Experience Minimum: 4 Year(s) Maximum: 10 Year(s) iii) Age Limit Minimum: 24 Year(s) Maximum: 30 Year(s) 3 Job Role & Responsibilities Role: To design and evaluate Steering System, Steering mechanism and its aggregates like steering linkages, rack and pinion, tie tod, steering column, bushes, ball joint for 4 wheelers. Understanding of vehicle architecture, layout. (4Wh, 3Wh) Work out steering system hard points considering suspension hard points and optimise steering layout. Work out and should have knowhow of different steering systems like rack and pinion, centre-take off, bell crank. Workout designs like collapsible steering column, power steering system depending on project need. Work out and detailing of 3Wh steering column and fork design. 3D Modelling & 2D Drafting. Consider performance and durability aspects early in design. Review, evaluate, optimise design. Understand, apply, built in design for field service aspects and provide design support for field service. Consider cost elements and aspects in design parameters, specifications. Interfacing with design, validation, CAE, manufacturing, development and service teams. Selection of material. Failure analysis, make / review simulation plans, c/m validation plans 4 Competency Requirements Technical/ Functional: Understanding of relevant manufacturing processes like forging, Casting, and machining. Exposure to metrology and capable of basic measurements. Basic Knowledge, experience of manufacturing aspects, tooling, processes. Behavioural Initiative, Desire to Learn Effective communication skills Ability to work in a team Specific expertise required for functional area: Unigraphics: Modelling and Assembly modules (CRITICAL) Good in GD&T principles, process capabilities Exposure to relevant design standards. (IS, JIS, JASO, DIN, ISO) DFMEA FTA , Why-Why analysis Administrative Documentation, making and maintaining reports, data, documents, information Analytical Data analysis skills Basic statistical skills Understanding, interpreting, summarising reports
