Division BAL-Chakan Department Manufacturing Engineering Level / Grade EX Functional Area Manufacturing Engineering 1 Job Title MGR - Manufacturing Engineering 2 Reporting Functional reporting to : GM - Manufacturing Engineering Desirable: Engineering Graduate – B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferably, but EE also acceptable) preferably from IIT/NIT ii) Experience Minimum: 9 Maximum: 15 iii) Age Limit Minimum: 30 Maximum: 45 4 Job Role & Responsibilities *Primary Responsibilities:* Process designing, assembly readiness - robust process, high repeatability Lead the team to ensure on-time build of pre-pilot batch, pilot batch and SOP batches. Identify and close DFA, DFM points. Q issues – QSR RFT defects elimination Trouble shooting of defects using problem solving tools like 7QC tools, New models Quality (RAR-Run at rate, DRBFM, PRBFM) Why-Why analysis etc Capacity generation as and when required in stringent time frame Assembly related ECR monitoring and implementation. - *Supplier Engagement*: Ensure sub-assembly process establishment at supplier ends for new component development, new sub-assemblies, with systems, displays of IPO, SOP, Q alerts, Pokayoke check sheets - *Process Optimization*: Analyse and refine manufacturing processes to meet optimal cost and quality benchmarks, including process engineering, component development, tooling procurement. Lead ECRS activities. - *Equipment Development*: Design new machinery and upgrade existing equipment to improve production capabilities and meet new model requirements. - *Cost Management Initiatives*: Conceptualize and lead projects focused on reducing operational costs. *Additional Responsibilities:* - *Team Management/Documentation*: Supervise and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution. Ensure documentation readiness (TD, BOM, IPO, etc.) - *Collaboration*: Work with cross-functional teams to improve production processes, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. - *Project Management*: Proven track record of managing large projects (Material handling automation, MES, PokaYoke, etc.) from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. 5 Competency Requirements Technical/ Functional: New product development knowledge Knowledge of Software's like Altium & MATLAB for DFM & DFA Good process knowledge including PCB handling - fuses /Led/TFT etc Good process knowledge of Reflow/Wave Soldering/Robotic Soldering & Manual Soldering Ability to prepare process flow for PCB manufacturing APQP/DFA/DFM/DFMEA/PFMEA Ability to plan equipment and processes for New products Ability to design End of Line and In-Process test equipment Ability to do in-process costing and VA & VE Understanding of Machine balance / Operator/ line balance Lean concepts like VSM / Strategic layout planning / MES / IOT and IOT and digitisation Problem solving approach 8D / Six Sigma / SPC / DOE etc Ability to plan Automation/Semi-automatic and have experience in handling material handling Good knowledge of Product or part where he has experience Vehicle manufacturing process & functional knowledge Process & facility planning Behavioral Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work in a lean structure.
