KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Compile, implement and monitor the hospital-specific nursing strategy Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency Manage the patient experience Lead and manage people in the nursing department Manage key stakeholder relations REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Professional Nurse qualification and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Services Management or an Accredited Management Qualification Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing when managing a specialist hospital (e.g. Mental Healthcare) DESIRED EDUCATION: N/A REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ Professional Nurse Experience in a hospital 3 years’ Nursing Management Experience DESIRED EXPERIENCE: N/A REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Infection prevention and control Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies Clinical risk management Management of staff productivity Healthcare industry Computer literate (Microsoft Office) Financial management Nursing functional knowledge Relevant nursing legislation Auditing and accreditation processes Human resource processes including employee relations Patient complaint management All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
