Purpose The Weapon Contamination Officer supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Weapon Contamination (WeC) activities to reduce the humanitarian impact of explosive hazards and strengthen operational effectiveness. The role provides technical, administrative, and coordination support by managing risk assessments, training, data collection, reporting, and collaboration with the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and other stakeholders. The incumbent also ensures efficient administrative processes, accurate documentation, and compliance with ICRC policies and procedures while contributing to the safe and effective delivery of WeC programmes. Accountabilities & functional responsibilities Plan, implement, monitor, and continuously improve Weapon Contamination (WeC) activities in line with ICRC standards and operational priorities. Support risk identification and risk assessments to mitigate the impact of weapon contamination on staff, operations, and affected communities. Coordinate and provide administrative and logistical support for WeC/RASB trainings, workshops, meetings, and field activities. Monitor programme budgets and expenditures, ensuring accurate cost tracking and compliance with financial procedures. Prepare, maintain, and manage operational records, reports, filing systems, and programme documentation while ensuring confidentiality. Manage WeC programme data by maintaining accurate databases and entering operational information into designated data management systems. Provide high-quality English–Myanmar interpretation and translation for meetings, trainings, workshops, and official documents. Coordinate with internal departments and external partners, including MRCS, Logistics, and Communications, to support programme implementation and information sharing. Monitor and manage Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and coordinate printing, stock control, and distribution. Ensure all administrative, financial, and operational activities comply with ICRC policies, procedures, timelines, and documentation standards. People management responsibilities No Education & Professional Experience required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Disaster Risk Management, International Relations, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or another relevant field. Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in humanitarian operations, weapon contamination/mine action, risk reduction, project coordination, or a related field. Strong administrative, analytical, and organizational skills, with experience in data management, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners, government authorities, and multicultural teams; proficiency in Myanmar and English (written and spoken) is required. Demonstrated ability to work independently in challenging environments, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ICRC principles and humanitarian values. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. Previous experience with the ICRC or other humanitarian organizations is a strong advantage.
