*CLUB ITALIA Position Title: Porter *
*1. POSITION PURPOSE *
The Porter provides essential facility support, event setup, cleaning, and operational assistance to ensure banquet halls, lounge areas, and common spaces are clean, safe, and event?ready.
*2. REPORTING STRUCTURE *
Reports directly to: Banquet Supervisor / Operations Supervisor or General Manager
Supports: Chef, Lounge Supervisor, and event staff
*3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES *
· Event Setup & Teardown
· Set up tables, chairs, linens, décor, and equipment according to event orders.
· Assist with teardown, cleaning, and resetting rooms for upcoming events. Maintain washrooms, hallways, and common areas.
· Perform garbage removal, recycling, and dishwasher support.
· Keep storage rooms organized and accessible.
*4. Facility Cleaning & Maintenance Support *
· Operational Support
· Assist kitchen and FOH teams as required.
· Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
· responsible for monitoring the inventory, taking note of required cleaning supplies and notifying management if additional stock is necessary. This extends to items such as tissue rolls in bathrooms, which they oversee and replenish regularly.
· Support grounds or facility tasks during peak periods.
· Snow removal, salting, and winter safety maintenance.
*5. COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS *
· WHMIS and safe chemical handling
· Public Health sanitation standards
· Fire Code and emergency procedures
· Club Italia HR and safety policies
*6. PERFORMANCE INDICATORS *
· Cleanliness and readiness of event spaces
· Timeliness and accuracy of setups
· Reliability and teamwork
· Safety compliance
*7. QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS *
· Ability to lift 40?50 lbs
· Physical stamina is essential, as porters remain standing throughout their entire shift
· WHMIS mandatory
· Experience in hospitality or cleaning roles (required)
*8. WORKING CONDITIONS *
· Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and extended walking
· Evening, weekend, and event?based hours
· Fast?paced environment with shifting priorities
Pay: $20.00 per hour
