About this role
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Community dental clinic. Private practice. Tasks: Clean teeth. Diagnose dental diseases . Examine patients' teeth, gums and surrounding tissue. Plan dental health treatment. Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Perform oral surgery, periodontal surgery and other treatments. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Eligible for professional liability insurance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Morning. Day.
