Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Heavy equipment. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Order parts and maintain inventory. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Repair and maintain equipment. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Diagnose faults, using testing devices. Detect and repair mechanical and electrical problems. Equipment and machinery experience: Small front end loaders. Power mowers. Hoses. Diesel engines. Hydraulic system. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions. Hydraulic transmissions. Brake system. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
