Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Pharmacy technician/assistant. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Pharmacy or drugstore. Level of expertise: Technician. Tasks: Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate. Enter client information in databases. Prepare medications for clients. Bill third party insurers. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products. Area of work experience: Pharmaceuticals and medicines. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
