About this role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Supervise other workers. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim. Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets. Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied. Install exterior and interior steel studs. Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation. Prepare wall and ceiling layouts. Utilize laser alignment system. Estimate costs and materials. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
