Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Employer's home. Tasks: Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Shop for food and household supplies. Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties. Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens. Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents. Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children. Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home. Prepare and serve nutritious meals. Supervise and care for children. Take children to and from school and to appointments. Help children with homework. Cook. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Developmental services worker (DSW) Training. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Morning. Weekend. Support for newcomers and refugees: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
