About this role

Job summary Are you an experienced and passionate midwife looking to inspire, support and develop the next generation of midwives? Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Preceptorship Midwife to lead and coordinate our preceptorship programme, ensuring newly qualified midwives receive the guidance, education and support they need to thrive in clinical practice.

Main duties of the job Working within our Womens Services team, you will play a key role in promoting excellence in maternity care through education, mentorship and professional development. Based across our maternity services, you will work closely with clinical teams, educators and senior leaders to create a supportive learning environment that enables newly qualified midwives to build confidence, competence and professional resilience.

What you will bring to the role We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered midwife with significant post-registration experience and a commitment to professional development. You will have:

Current NMC registration as a Midwife. Experience supporting, teaching and developing midwives in clinical practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for education, mentorship and workforce development. Experience facilitating learning and delivering training programmes. The ability to build positive relationships across multidisciplinary teams. Strong organisational and time management skills. A commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice. The ability to support staff wellbeing and promote a positive learning culture. Leadership skills that inspire confidence, innovation and continuous improvement.
