Job summary
The Fleet and Equipment Manager is responsible for the effective management, compliance, availability, and performance of
QE Facilities' courier fleet and associated operational equipment. This includes courier vehicles, temperature-controlled
Eberspcher fridge units, and Zebra handheld scanning devices used across logistics operations.
The postholder will ensure all fleet and equipment assets are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and fit for purpose, supporting
high-quality courier and logistics services to NHS partners. The role will work closely with Logistics, Transport, IT, SHEQ, and
external suppliers to maintain service continuity and drive continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job
Overall responsibility for the management and performance of the courier vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe,compliant, and operationally available.
Manage planned and reactive maintenance schedules, inspections, servicing, MOTs, and repairs for all fleet vehicles.
Oversee the operation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of Eberspcher fridge units to ensure temperature compliancefor pharmaceutical and clinical deliveries.
Manage the lifecycle of Zebra handheld scanners, including procurement, configuration, deployment, fault resolution,replacement, and asset tracking.
Act as the primary point of contact for fleet, refrigeration, and handheld equipment suppliers and service providers.
Monitor fleet and equipment KPIs, reporting on availability, downtime, defects, compliance, and costs.
Ensure full compliance with DVSA requirements, driving at work regulations, health & safety legislation, and internalpolicies.
Support accident, incident, and defect investigations relating to vehicles or equipment, ensuring corrective actions areimplemented.
Manage fleet and equipment budgets, identifying opportunities for cost control and efficiency savings.
Maintain accurate asset registers for vehicles, fridge units, and handheld devices.
Support onboarding of new contracts by ensuring fleet and equipment requirements are identified and delivered on time.
Drive continuous improvement in fleet utilisation, reliability, and equipment performance.

Knowledge and skills Essential
Strong knowledge of fleet management and vehicle compliance IT literate with experience managing handheld or mobile devices Working knowledge of health & safety and driving at work regulations Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with operational and technical stakeholders
