We have an exciting opportunity for join our Estates Department at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) .

To principally provide a comprehensive Building maintenance service for the repair, maintenance and New works installation.

Maintenance requirements will be located at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) owned, leased properties, and properties where ESNEFT provide an estates maintenance service, via a service level agreement or management agreement.

This includes the maintenance and repair of existing assets as well as the inspection and verification testing of new equipment and systems, delivered by outside contractors, and to ensure at all times, a safe environment for patients, public and staff.Whilst the primary task will be Building work, the post holder must have a flexible approach to a range of building maintenance operations.

Please note, your shift pattern will include Saturdays and you may be required to be part of on call rota.

Main duties of the job

Ensuring Building (and other) safety of tradespersons and craft assistants working on systems under direction as a competent person for electrical (and other) activities, and at all times to ensure the safety of patients, public and staff. Reporting any issues of concern to supervisors, estates officers or senior managers as necessary.

Fire door maintenance and repairs are an essential part of this role Building & Fabric. Doors. Windows. Fixed & loose furniture. Locks & all associated fittings. Access Control Systems.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Recognised Trade Apprenticeship, Level 3 City & Guilds Craft certificates, or equivalent.

Desirable

Competent Person Confined Space Certificate, as defined by the latest HSE Confined Spaces Regulation.

Experience Essential

Relevant experience of NHS hospital environment or similar establishments. Experience of building maintenance and systems. Experience of working on specialist hospital equipment.

Desirable

Relevant experience of working in the healthcare Environment. Experience of lone working. Experience to follow detailed building drawings and specifications.

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Good knowledge of H&S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHH. Basic computer skills. Knowledge and appreciation of all engineering and building disciplines Knowledge of personal responsibilities under Health and Safety requirements and legislation.

Desirable

Knowledge of Access Control Systems Working knowledge of H&S Legislation and hospital specifics (HBN's).
