Job Description: Assistant Manager Oil Logistics & Execution Location: Europoort
The Role ADM Europoort is seeking an Assistant Manager Oil Logistics & Execution to support the leadership of the Customer Service, Planning and Biodiesel teams within our Oils business. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth execution of commercial commitments, optimizing supply chain performance and supporting the efficient operation of our refinery and logistics network. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external business partners and operational teams to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective oil movements. The departments under your responsibility are accountable for: • Customer Service: End-to-end management and execution of contracts for crude and refined vegetable oils and co-products, including transport coordination, documentation, and customer communication for truck, ISO container, and flexibag shipments.
• Planning: Refinery production planning and coordination of all inbound and outbound vessel operations for oil products and coordination of the FOB Dutch Mill Position. • Biodiesel Trade Eexecution: Responsible for the operational execution of biodiesel and feedstock contracts. The team ensures that all physical product movements, documentation, and administrative processes are handled accurately and efficiently, from contract confirmation through to final delivery to the customer.
Key Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Manager Oil Logistics & Execution, your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the day-to-day management of the Customer Service and Planning teams. • Overseeing the successful execution of traded vegetable oil and biodiesel contracts from nomination through final delivery. • Ensuring accurate and timely communication with internal stakeholders, including Trading, Finance, Operations and other ADM locations, as well as external stakeholders such as customers, counterparties, shipping agents, transport providers, inspection companies and tank terminals. • Coordinating and optimizing oil movements to meet customer requirements while maximizing storage utilization and minimizing freight, storage and demurrage costs. • Acting as deputy for the Manager Oil Logistics & Execution during periods of absence. • Contributing to refinery production planning and ensuring alignment between commercial commitments and operational capabilities. • Developing expert knowledge of vegetable oil logistics, supply chain management and contract execution while supporting the department's continued growth and excellence. • Driving continuous improvement initiatives through ADM's Performance Excellence Program and supporting the implementation of new processes, projects and automation solutions. • Coaching, supporting and helping develop the Oils Logistics & Contract Execution team, consisting of approximately 10 employees and 1 international ADM trainee. • Promoting a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, safety and customer focus across the department.
: Candidate Profile The successful candidate will possess: • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization. • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, capable of developing productive partnerships with Commercial, Refinery Engineering, Operations, and external business partners. • Resilient and stress-resistant, with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment. • Stable, reliable, and proactive personality with a solution-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership. • Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple activities simultaneously without compromising quality. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate handling and interpretation of logistics and operational data. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, pivot tables, and complex formulas. • Affinity with software applications, ERP systems, and digital business processes. • Team-oriented professional who collaborates effectively with others while also working independently when required. • Committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering high levels of customer service.
