Job Description: This occupation required the investigation, inspection and dispositioning of incoming/make products from the time of receipt through the delivery of the product, utilizing product audits, applying quality control procedures to materials, manufacturing processes and products and joint disposition of rejected and obsolete electronics equipment, assemblies, materials and tools. Also requires the evaluation of all electronic components.

Primary Job Duties Include: • Inspect, audit, witness test and/or evaluate electronic components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, subsystems,systems, and processes, including government/customer furnished material, as required per contractual specifications. • Receiving, in-process and final inspection of product through the acquisition, manufacturing, testing, repair/modification and shipping cycle, including but not limited to in-house manufacturing, as well as government or customer furnished material, as required per customer contractual specifications and company specific procedures, using prints, documents and tools, such as calipers, rulers, gauges, magnifying lamps, ohmmeters and electronic test equipment. • Inputting, making additions and accessing data on computer-based programs, files and others. • Write rejection reports, initiate rework orders, verify in-house planning, DLMFspecific documents, log sheets and shipping documents. • Maintain surveillance, including ESD certification, area surveillance and tool validation and any others assigned. • May assist with audits. • Identify and segregate nonconforming material and may perform preliminary review of same. Maintain material review crib. • Assist Quality Engineers. Communicate with engineers, test technicians, assemblers, supervision and government personnel as required. • Apply statistical quality control procedures to an assigned product or process. This includes the selection and installation of a sampling plan, the analysis of data to determine if within allowable limits. • The analysis of operations to determine cause of failures (when these occur) and contact with responsible personnel to effect changes necessary to obtain adequate control. • Perform mechanical inspection of all types using measurement devices. Jointly determine the practicability of scraping, salvaging or reworking damaged or rejected parts, assemblies, materials and tools. • Initiate and maintain the necessary logs, and acceptance and rejection records, written or electronic.

Required Skills and Education: • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years inspection experience in a factory environment. • Some experience with computer databases desired. • Ability to read blueprints and specifications • Ability to use basic inspection tools, such as rulers, calipers, scales, etc. • Ability to certify to the following company/contractual certifications, as appropriate; solder, electro-static discharge, crimp, torque, material handling, FOD and required visual acuity. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating with company personnel and customers. • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate transactions. • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with procedures.
