Job summary
The Nurse Manager (Lead Practice Nurse) is responsible for providing professional, operational and clinical leadership to the nursing workforce across Whitburn Surgery and Albert Road Surgery.
The post holder will lead the development of safe, effective and patient-centred nursing services while maintaining an agreed level of clinical practice. Working closely with the Strategic General Practice Lead, Clinical Lead GP and Practice Managers, the Nurse Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality care, support workforce development, promote clinical excellence and drive continuous service improvement.
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for developing a highly skilled, motivated and collaborative nursing team through effective leadership, mentorship, education and performance management.
Main duties of the job
Provide effective leadership and management of the nursing workforce across both practice sites by:
Providing visible, supportive and professional leadership. Creating a positive and inclusive team culture. Leading by example and promoting high clinical standards. Supporting organisational objectives and service transformation. Working collaboratively with Practice Managers and Clinical Leads. Promoting multidisciplinary working across both sites. Acting as the professional nursing lead within the organisation.

Registered Nurse (NMC Registered) Current NMC registration without restrictions General Practice Nursing experience Cervical Cytology Immunisation and Vaccination Long-Term Condition Management Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Independent Prescriber (V300)

Leadership or Management Qualification (ILM, CMI or equivalent)
Knowledge and Skills Essential
