About this role

Job summary

A great opportunity has become available for an experienced secretary/administrator for the young peoples' Eating Disorder Service.

You will work as part of their multidisciplinary teams, ensuring an efficient and confidential service.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to manage the day-to-day administration needs of the Spring Tide Eating Disorder Day Service team. Some reception cover will be required to cover breaks and absences at the Spring Tide Day Service, which is based in Aldrington House, Hove. You will be meeting and greeting our young people and their families in Hove, some of whom may be distressed so a compassionate and calm manner is essential.

You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Other skills required are diary management, accurate typing, the ability to compose your own emails/correspondence and organisational skills. You will be supporting the Service Manager with her administration and management of annual leave/appraisals and supervisions.

You will also be required to support the established administration team for the Sussex Family Eating Disorders community team who are also based at Aldrington House with spokes/clinics in Horsham and Hailsham.

The role supports Consultant Psychiatrists, Mental Health Practitioners and clinical staff with administrative and secretarial duties, including:

Typing and sending clinic letters Booking appointments and diary management Telephone calls to and from service users, carers, staff Email inbox management Minute taking Reception cover Processing Referrals Arranging Blood forms and ECG's/DEXA scans Liaison with GP surgeries, schools, hospitals, and other professionals

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

NVQ 3 or equivalent RSA 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience or equivalent Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent

Knowledge/Experience Essential

Proven experience of a range of secretarial procedures Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy Experience of maintaining office systems Experience of working as part of a team
