Join our friendly, dedicated, and patient-focused team as a Phlebotomist (Maternity Cover) at Hereford Medical Group.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Phlebotomist to provide maternity leave cover within our busy primary care service. Applicants must have completed a recognised Venepuncture qualification and have a minimum of 12 months' recent phlebotomy experience, with confidence in performing venepuncture independently while delivering excellent patient care.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position from 1st October 2026 to 31st July 2027.
The role is for 20 to 30 hours per week. You will be working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team from our purpose-built site in the centre of Hereford, carrying out venepuncture procedures, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring the safe handling and processing of samples in accordance with practice protocols.
The successful candidate will receive support and guidance from the Lead Healthcare Assistant and wider clinical team.

Main duties of the job
As a Phlebotomist (Maternity Cover), you will provide high-quality venepuncture services across our sites. We are seeking someone with a recognised Venepuncture qualification and a minimum of 12 months' phlebotomy experience.
Duties include taking blood samples, accurately labelling and preparing specimens, maintaining patient records, ensuring timely laboratory dispatch, and delivering excellent patient care. You will work closely with the wider clinical team to maintain safe, professional, and welcoming clinical environments.
