Main duties of the job
To undertake psychological assessments of clients including cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, self-report measures. To develop and prepare materials for use in therapeutic interventions To assist in the formulation (predominantly using the biopsychosocial model) and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and / or management of a service users problems, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
To work under a positive behaviour support framework and contribute to the development and monitoring of person centred care plans
Teaching, Training and Supervision
In common with all clinical psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines as well as regular managerial supervision.
To gain wider experience of professional psychology over and above that provided within the principal service area where the post holder is employed.
To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties
To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological approaches.
Service Development
To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects as required.
To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.

Job description Job responsibilities
This post is advertised to work within the Iris Care Group neuropsychiatry service. The post is based in an inpatient setting with clients with progressive and non-progressive neurocognitive disorders (dementia, Korsakoffs and acquired brain injury) alongside behaviours that challenge.
To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients across the service, providing psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
To work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified Clinical psychologist and within the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.
To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and / or research projects, teaching and project work.

Qualifications Essential
Batchelors degree in Psychology
Desirable
Experience working working as an Assistant Psychologist
Experience Essential
Experience of working working within a mental health/complex setting
Desirable
Working within a neuropsychiatric conditions and Acquired Brain Injury setting.
