Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide hands-on training and assistance in a variety of medical procedures including restraint, phlebotomy, and catheterization techniques. • Monitor patient vital signs and conditions during procedures and treatments, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. • Perform mechanical ventilation and plasmapheresis procedures as needed, utilizing advanced medical equipment and protocols. • Calculate, prepare, and administer fluid therapy according to prescribed guidelines, ensuring accurate dosages and patient hydration. • Provide sedation and anesthetic monitoring for patients across a range of ASA status levels, maintaining vigilance and responsiveness to patient needs. • Administer oral, parenteral, and enteral medications as prescribed, adhering to medication protocols and dosage calculations. • Setup, administer, and monitor patient responses to blood product administration, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring patient safety. • Position and restrain patients for various diagnostic imaging studies, facilitating accurate and reliable imaging results. • Assist in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, collaborating with veterinary staff to optimize patient care outcomes. • Apply knowledge of pharmacology to calculate dosages and anticipate patient responses to medications, ensuring effective treatment regimens. • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and patient care activities, documenting treatment plans and outcomes for reference and compliance purposes. • Document patient responses to treatments and medications, tracking progress and adjusting care plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. • Ensure orderly and sanitary work areas in clinical, teaching, and research facilities, following strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. • Utilize personal protective equipment correctly and practice proper hand hygiene to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with anesthetic induction, maintenance, and recovery under supervision in a teaching or referral hospital setting.

Exposure to specialty or referral level clinical services such as surgery, emergency, ICU, or advanced diagnostics during veterinary technician training.

Experience using veterinary anesthesia machines and patient monitoring equipment as part of clinical rotations or externship requirements.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
