About this role
Responsibilities / Tasks The IIoT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that connect food and beverage processing equipment with cloud-based digital applications and advanced data analytics platforms. This role combines expertise in industrial automation, connectivity, cloud technologies, and data engineering to deliver scalable digital solutions that enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, process optimization, asset performance management, and sustainability initiatives.
This position can be based in Alcobendas (Spain), Naas (Ireland) or Bogota (Colombia), depending on the selected candidate.
• Integrate Siemens and Rockwell automation systems with cloud-based platforms, including Microsoft Azure, InfluxDB, and Databricks. • Support the development of digital applications for equipment monitoring, asset performance management, predictive maintenance, energy management, water optimization, and production performance analytics. • Collaborate with Product Managers and Automation Engineers to define technical requirements. • Implement edge-to-cloud connectivity solutions for real-time data collection and monitoring. • Drive the standardization of digital architectures and integration frameworks. • Ensure IIoT solutions comply with OT cybersecurity standards and industry best practices. • Implement standardized industrial data models, asset hierarchies, and contextualized data structures. • Support the development of reusable connectivity and analytics solutions. • Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of digital products.
Your Profile / Qualifications Educational Background
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering or Computer Science.
Professional Knowledge and Experience
• 5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, IIoT, Cloud Engineering, or Digital Solutions. • Experience delivering cloud-based software products using Microsoft Azure. • Experience working with InfluxDB and Databricks for time-series data management, analytics, and reporting. • Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems within process or manufacturing industries. • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Knowledge of Food & Beverage processes. • Awareness of IEC 62443 and industrial cybersecurity principles. • Fluent English (B2/C1) required. • Spanish or German would be considered a strong advantage.
