JOB SUMMARY

The Family Support Coordinator provides case management and family support services to Tribal children and families involved in Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) matters. This position supports family stability, reunification efforts, and preservation of cultural identity by connecting families with services, conducting needs assessments, and maintaining consistent engagement. The role works closely with ICWA staff, Social Services programs, and external partners to coordinate services and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Conduct intake and ongoing needs assessments for children and families involved in ICWA cases

• Provide case management services, including service planning, referrals, and follow-up support

• Conduct home visits and client meetings to support family stability and child safety

• Connect families with internal programs and external resources, including parenting education, behavioral health, and community services

• Maintain regular contact with families to monitor progress and ensure access to services

• Document all services, contacts, and case activity in accordance with program requirements

• Participate in case reviews, staff meetings, court-related activities, and multidisciplinary team coordination

• Coordinate with Tribal departments, county agencies, and service providers to support case outcomes

• Support reunification efforts and culturally appropriate service delivery

• Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records

• Maintain a flexible schedule, including travel, to meet program and client needs

• Perform other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree in social work, human services, or related field

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in case management, advocacy, or direct client services

• Knowledge of ICWA, child welfare systems, and available community resources preferred

• Experience working with Tribal communities and understanding of cultural and historical considerations

• Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate documentation

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance

• Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.

INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:

In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate. $62000.00 - $78,000.00 Annually
