About this role
The instructor is responsible for teaching an introductory computer applications course that provides students with a foundation in essential computer and Microsoft Office skills. Instruction includes basic computer operations using a Windows-based operating system, as well as the effective use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
The instructor will develop and deliver engaging classroom instruction, create hands-on learning activities, and assess student progress throughout the course. Emphasis is placed on helping students integrate information across Microsoft Office applications while developing practical technology skills applicable to both personal and professional settings.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Deliver classroom instruction in basic computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.
• Teach students to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint effectively.
• Demonstrate how to integrate data across Microsoft Office programs.
• Develop and facilitate hands-on projects that reinforce course concepts.
• Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and other evaluation methods.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records in accordance with college policies.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
• Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations and progress.
• Perform other instructional duties as assigned by the department.
