We’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Building Control Officer to join our Building Control Team to ensure building work in the Clutha District meets legislative requirements.
In this role, you will:
• Process building consent applications, perform inspections and issue Code Compliance Certificates.
• Support the public and local community in their compliance with legislation, Council bylaws and the NZ Building Code.
• Review and assess non-compliant building work.
• Assist and liaise with customer concerns.
• Build great relationships across Council, community stakeholders and building professionals.
What we’re are looking for:
• Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the building consent process
• Confidence in assessing building consent applications and reviewing plans for compliance
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail and committed to providing professional advice
