CLASS TITLE: ACCOUNT CLERK JOB CLASS CODE: 7165 REPORTS TO: School Principal EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt Approved: November 16, 2020 BASIC FUNCTION: Under general supervision, to perform specialized accounting, budget control and clerical functions in maintaining financial records, utilizing manual and computer processes and to perform other related-work duties as required at the school site. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

• Perform specialized and technical functions in assembling, tabulating, calculating, verifying, and filing accounting, and fiscally related information and data.

• Perform fiscal and record management operations related to one or more specialized accounting, budget control functions.

• Assist in revision, formulation, and implementation of accounting, budget control, and record management systems and procedures.

• Post, balance, and verify accounting, budget control records.

• Establish, post, and maintain journals, ledgers, and a variety of other accounting and records.

• Prepare and verify the accuracy and completeness of financial files, records, and reports.

• Prepare accounting record analysis

• Operate computers, business office machines and equipment.

• Work with a computer-based accounting, budget control system.

• Prepare system input data and analyze, verify, and reconcile output reports.

• Make complex arithmetical calculations and verify computations.

• May perform lead functions within a specialized accounting, budget control, or record management system, which may include the preparation of technical and complex reports.

• May interpret and provide information regarding routine legal mandates, policies, regulations, and operational guidelines to School personnel.

• Maintains regular attendance. It is an essential job function that all employees report to work.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic accounting practices and procedures.

• Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.

• Operation of a computer and other office equipment.

• Record-keeping techniques.

ABILITY TO:

• Perform routine clerical accounting duties in the maintenance of assigned accounting records.

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.

• Maintain accurate financial and statistical records and compile data from clearly indicated sources.

• Operate standard office equipment.

• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Learn and apply office policies, rules and practices.

• Understand and follow oral and written directions.

• Prepare data processing input documents rapidly and accurately.

• Meet schedules and time lines/deadlines.

• Work cooperatively with others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

• Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects

• This type of work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods

• Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, proving oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job

• Work is performed with standing, sitting and/or walking

• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing

• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations

• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching

• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights up to approximately 20 pounds
