TITLE: Elementary Behavior Intervention Facilitator FLSA STATUS: Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: A four-year degree from an accredited institution with a N.C. continuing professional license/certification in the assigned area of teaching. REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: To demonstrate leadership, to establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, to know the content they teach, to facilitate learning for their students, and to reflect on their practice. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish and implement expectations, rules, and procedures for students assigned
• Process and log all students who are assigned and record all data electronically
• Ensure that all students who are upset have a space where they can restore their sense of calm; the Facilitator does NOT escalate the student but utilizes de-escalation practices with the upset student
• Ensures all students assigned participate in a reflection/planning conference before the student returns to the regularly assigned classroom
• Contacts an administrator when serious incidents must be investigated or reported (ex. abuse, self-harm, or harm to others)
• Communicates and collaborates with administration, student services staff, and regular classroom teachers
• Supports all assigned students to complete assigned work through personalized coaching and conferencing
• Ensure work assignments received from the teacher and completed by students are documented
• When no students are assigned, the facilitator will regularly monitor, “check-in” with, and conference with students previously assigned
• Collects and summarizes all student data (for those assigned) weekly and submits weekly data summary to the administrative team and school counselor/school social worker
• Participates in student services/MTSS/School Culture meetings as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders. Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
