Qualifications:
• Valid Cosmetology License
• Current Cosmetology SC LLR Instructor credential.
• Minimum of 4 years of full-time experience in cosmetology.
• Valid South Carolina teaching credential or the ability to obtain one.
Job Responsibilities:
• Teach cosmetology and related subjects to high school students pursuing careers in the industry.
• Foster industry connections to support service learning, cooperative education, and work-based learning opportunities.
• Engage advisory committees for regular input and program improvement.
• Work additional hours as needed to provide students with enriching after-hours experiences.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans, program syllabi, goals, and objectives aligned with current curriculum standards.
• Integrate work ethics, fire prevention, and health and safety procedures into the instruction.
• Organize time, space, materials, and equipment effectively for classroom and lab instruction.
• Provide personalized educational assistance to students, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain classroom discipline to optimize learning outcomes.
• Assess student competency through well-defined evaluation criteria.
• Manage and maintain supplies and equipment for classes and labs.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practices.
• Keep accurate and timely student progress records.
• Actively participate in school committees, in-service programs, and organizational initiatives.
• Support and mentor student organizations to foster professional growth.
• Provide job placement assistance and career guidance to students.
• Suggest and implement ideas for the overall improvement of the school's programs.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other district office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Evaluation: Job Performance evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy. Terms of Employment: 190 contract. Salary determined by placement on district teacher salary schedule.
