Job Summary Monitors and coordinates instructional activities and resources related to individual school needs in the schools assigned. Serves as direct liaison between the schools and the Deputy Superintendent's Office. Essential Functions 1. Provides guidance and assistance to principals to facilitate their work with students, staff, and parents. 2. Provides program development, articulation, and coordination services to Principals and their staff. 3. Leads, directs, and manages elementary school education operations; recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff. Plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews staff job contributions to planning, development, delivery, follow-up, and evaluation of elementary school education. 4. Coordinates efforts of district-wide alternative curricular and materials study groups. 5. Research and review new ideas and programs as they relate to education. 6. Reviews and makes recommendations for program changes. 7. Provides direction and staff development opportunities for Principals. 8. Coordinates academic summer school activities. 9. Assists in developing individual objectives of Principals and monitors progress of academic programs. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years combination of school based and/or district administrative and/or related high level management experience. Experience with challenged schools preferred. Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in Administration and Supervision or Educational Leadership. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
