FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES __Provides a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment to ensure full and productive use of district facilities __Ensures that all activities conform to district guidelines __Communicates effectively with all members of the school district and community __Reacts to change productively and handles other tasks as assigned __Appropriately operates all equipment and machinery as required __Supports the value of an education __Supports the philosophy and mission of USD 250 __Keeps building and premises (including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas) neat and clean at all times __Cleans classroom and office floors daily. Dumps pencil sharpeners, trash and replaces bags. Dust furniture, lines up desks, cleans blackboards, erasers and chalk trays. Cleans classroom sinks. __Cleans corridors each day. Dusts locker tops, washes and repairs as needed. Cleans drinking fountains daily. __Mops restroom floors and cleans all sanitary fixtures daily. Fills soap, towel and toilet paper dispensers. __Sweeps, bleaches, stage and stairs. Cleans behind bleachers. Mops as needed. __Throughout the building, replaces light bulbs as needed. Removes gum, tape, and marks from floors and walls. Dusts walls as needed. Cleans air return and vent louvers as needed. Dusts window ledges. Buffs and recoats floor as needed. Washes windows inside and outside at least twice a year, and more frequently if necessary. __Ensures that all doors and windows are secured and all lights are turned off (except as necessary for safety reasons) at the close of each school day. __Immediately reports unauthorized persons to the Principal. __Immediately reports damaged school property to the Principal. __Sees that district policies are observed at all times. __Other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian, Maintenance Director or Administrative Staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS __Requires prolonged sitting or standing. __Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. __Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching. __Requires climbing and balancing. __ Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. __Must work in noisy and crowded environments. __Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
