ACE TEACHER (Supplemental Assignment) Department: ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) Program Reports To: ACE Site Coordinator and Campus Principal Pay Grade: Hourly Rate as Approved by Grant Funding Employment Status: Supplemental Assignment (Not a Contract Position) Work Schedule: Outside of the Employee's Regular Contract Day Primary Purpose Provide academic intervention, enrichment, and engaging learning experiences for students participating in the Gonzales ISD ACE Afterschool Program. Support student achievement by delivering high-quality instruction in a safe, structured, and positive afterschool environment while promoting attendance, engagement, and social-emotional growth. Qualifications Education/Certification
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
• Currently employed as a Gonzales ISD teacher.
Experience
• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Experience providing intervention and/or enrichment activities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage students in an afterschool setting.
• Knowledge of grade-level curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate attendance and program documentation.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instruction
• Provide engaging academic instruction, tutoring, intervention, and enrichment activities aligned with program goals.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of participating students.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.
• Incorporate hands-on learning and project-based activities when appropriate.
Student Supervision
• Supervise students throughout assigned ACE activities.
• Maintain appropriate student discipline in accordance with district policies and the Student Code of Conduct.
• Ensure student safety during all program activities and transitions.
Program Responsibilities
• Maintain consistent attendance records and required documentation.
• Participate in required ACE trainings and staff meetings.
• Assist with family engagement events, showcases, or special ACE activities as assigned.
• Collaborate with the ACE Site Coordinator regarding lesson planning, student progress, and program needs.
• Communicate concerns regarding student behavior, attendance, or safety promptly to the Site Coordinator.
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Model professionalism and positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Comply with all Gonzales ISD policies, procedures, and grant requirements.
• Perform other duties related to the ACE Program as assigned.

• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Work with frequent interruptions.
• Meet deadlines and program expectations.
Physical Demands
• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting instructional materials.
• Ability to supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Terms of Employment
• This is a supplemental assignment funded through the ACE Grant and is contingent upon continued grant funding and program needs.
• Employment in this position does not alter the employee's regular contract or assignment.
• Work hours are outside the employee's regular contract day and are scheduled by the ACE Site Coordinator.
• Continued assignment is based upon program needs, satisfactory performance, student enrollment, and grant funding availability.
