ACE AIDE (Supplemental Assignment) Department: ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) Program Reports To: ACE Site Coordinator and Campus Principal Pay Grade: Hourly Rate as Approved by Grant Funding Employment Status: Supplemental Assignment (Not a Contract Position) Work Schedule: Outside of the Employee's Regular Work Day Primary Purpose Assist in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive afterschool learning environment for students participating in the Gonzales ISD ACE Program. Support teachers and program staff by supervising students, assisting with instructional activities, preparing materials, and promoting student engagement in academic and enrichment opportunities. Qualifications Education/Certification
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet Highly Qualified requirements for instructional aides, if applicable.
• Current Gonzales ISD employee preferred.
Experience
• Experience working with children or youth preferred.
• Experience in educational or recreational settings preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and program staff.

Major Responsibilities and Duties Student Support
• Assist teachers with academic and enrichment activities during the afterschool program.
• Provide individual or small-group assistance to students as directed by the teacher.
• Encourage student participation and positive behavior.
• Help students remain engaged during instructional and enrichment activities.
Student Supervision
• Supervise students during classroom instruction, recreation, snacks, transitions, field trips, and dismissal.
• Monitor student behavior and reinforce district expectations.
• Ensure student safety at all times and report concerns immediately to the teacher or Site Coordinator.
Program Support
• Prepare instructional materials, supplies, and activity spaces.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of classrooms and program areas.
• Help maintain accurate attendance records and other required documentation as assigned.
• Assist with family events, special activities, and ACE program functions.
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
• Follow all Gonzales ISD policies, procedures, and ACE grant requirements.
• Attend required ACE trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Perform other duties related to the ACE Program as assigned.
Working Conditions Mental Demands
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Work with frequent interruptions.
• Exercise sound judgment when supervising students.
Physical Demands
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to supervise indoor and outdoor activities.
• Lift and carry instructional materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
• Assist with student supervision during recreational activities and field trips.
Terms of Employment
• This is a supplemental assignment funded through the ACE Grant and is contingent upon continued grant funding and program needs.
• Employment in this position does not alter the employee's regular district assignment or work schedule.
• Work hours are outside the employee's regular work day and are scheduled by the ACE Site Coordinator.
• Continued assignment is based on satisfactory performance, student enrollment, attendance, program needs, and grant funding availability.
