Entry-level assistants shadow more experienced team members while learning production fundamentals. They help with equipment setup, basic editing tasks, and contribute to shoots in a supportive role. This role is designed for freshmen or newcomers to the FMA program with limited experience in video production but interested in media careers and looking to gain experience from the ground up.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

• Shadow intermediate and advanced assistants on video shoots and editing sessions to gain hands-on experience (CSD, TW)

• Assist with production setup and breakdown including lights, tripods, and basic camera operation (P, TW)

• Participate in lab projects and small team assignments to develop production skills (C, TW, T)

• Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and willingness to take direction and ask questions (P, CSD)

• Participate in Pike TV events as a learner or support crew member, contributing based on current skill level (TW, CSD, T)

Preferred Skills: Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Canva, Video Cameras, Lighting Equipment, Sound Recording, attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, written & verbal communication, customer focus, willingness to learn new things.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday: 8:00am–5:00pm; closed on weekends. Hours flexible to accommodate class schedules and events.

Work Conditions: Normal office environment

Physical Demands: Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling

Pay Rate: $9.75/hour
