Assist the Skills Lab Instructor and Simulation Educator in preparing, maintaining, and operating the skills lab and simulations. Ideal for students interested in healthcare, technology, and providing support to nursing education.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

• Obtain and prepare equipment for skills checkoffs as directed by the skills lab instructor. Assist Instructor with setting up items for simulation scenarios – C, TW, P, T

• Assist skills lab instructor in the cleaning of equipment such as manikins and/or return of items to storage – C, TW

• Monitor skills lab use by nursing students. Assist students with locating items needed for practice – C, P, CSD, L, T

• Maintain a log of equipment checked out for use outside of the skills/simulation laboratory. Assist with semi-annual/annual supplies inventory – C, CSD, L, T

• Assist simulation educator with updating simulators and simulator monitors and iPad – CT, T

• Assist simulation educator with the production of simulations including acting as standardized patient, moulaging, and/or operating simulators – C, TW, P, CSD, CT, CTR, T

Preferred Skills: Social media, new technology, activating scenario transitions for simulators, attention to detail, strong active listening abilities, willingness to learn new things.

Work Schedule: Generally between 8 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Priority during open hours and special events.

Work Conditions: Noise, vibrations, wetness, electrical currents, use of simulators and technology.

Physical Demands: Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling, pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 80 lbs. Most heavy tasks performed as a team.

Number of Positions: 2

Pay Rate: $9.75/hour

Location: CTC Building; work may occur on 1st–4th floors and Bears Tower 2nd floor ballroom.
