Support library operations with a focus on circulation, customer service, and technical assistance. This position is for returning student workers who have prior experience and training in Allara Library.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
• Provide high-quality customer service to meet patron needs – C, P, TW, CTR
• Check in/out library materials – T, P, CSD
• Ensure the integrity, privacy, and confidentiality of patron records and transactions – P, CT
• Answer the phone and relay questions to appropriate staff – C, TW
• Assist patrons with reference, resource, and technology questions – C, T, CT
• Help users locate library materials and explain policies – C, TW, P
• Provide technology support (Canvas, email, office software) – T, C, CT
• Assist with library equipment, printers, and copiers – T, P
• Answer library-related and campus-wide informational questions – C, TW, P
• Shelve, shift, and clean library materials – CSD, CT, P
• Conduct shelf reading for inventory – CT, P, CSD
• Perform additional tasks as assigned – TW, P, CSD

Work Schedule: Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM; Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 AM; Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Flexible with class schedule.
Work Conditions: Dust.
Physical Demands: Keyboarding, reaching/handling, stooping/kneeling, crouching/crawling, pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs., lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs., climbing, balancing.
Additional Notes: This position builds upon prior training and experience at Allara Library. Returning students should be detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, and committed to excellent customer service. Schedules are based on class and extracurricular availability.

Pay Rate: $9.75/hour
