Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide housekeeping and/or laundry services for care community as well as training housekeeping/laundry staff, ensuring staff’s daily work is completed per policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Ensure facility is neat and clean
Job Duties:
• Assist in hiring employees in housekeeping and laundry areas.
• Assist Director of Environmental Services, schedule and organize housekeeping staff to ensure the care community provides a safe, comfortable and clean home environment for residents and a safe and clean environment for staff and visitors.
• Schedule and organize laundry staff in such a way to ensure the care community provides adequate and timely laundry services to residents and other departments.
• Train new hires and existing staff to follow proper procedures.
• Adjust daily staff assignments to accommodate admissions, staff absences, projects, as needed.
• Retrain and or coach staff as needed to ensure quality services for care community. Provide input on quality of staff member performance.
• Fill in as needed for gaps due to time off requests or openings in scheduled services.
• Create and audit procedures as needed for housekeeping and laundry aides.
• Must understand and demonstrate competency of all OSHA regulations pertaining to housekeeping
Follow Universal Precautions & observe infection control policies including PPE (to include N95 respirator masks & surgical masks as necessary) and hand-washing.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident or staff information.
• Maintains resident rights at all times and reports any failure of any other person to comply with such including client abuse, neglect or disrespect.
• On Call Rotation
Qualifications:
• Prefer 1-2 years’ housekeeping/laundry supervisor experience
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to perform work safely.
• Minimum age of 18 is required.
• Knowledge and experience of laundry and housekeeping products and procedures.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer services to residents/patients, residents/patients’ families, coworkers, and visitors.
• Ability to lead team and be a positive role model of expected behaviors on the job.
• Specific physical requirements: must be able to lift 50 pounds from ground to waist and have the ability to move around the care community in a timely manner.
