Our Profile
In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Expeditor
The Expeditor will facilitate all end-users' expediting needs by promptly following up on all operational requirements (goods and service orders) and resolving any shipping, invoice, or documentation errors. This should align with Supply Chain Management’s commitment to "Total Cost" principles.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the follow-up and shipping status of all purchase orders, in accordance with the Supply Chain Department KPIs.
• Provide timely feedback to end-users regarding the status of pending purchase orders.
• Coordinate and resolve all issues related to “Invoices on Hold,” based on the Accounts Payable MiR6 report.
• Update the overdue report weekly and complete it according to SCM KPIs.
• Resolve WHS discrepancy reports.
• Clean the SAP Purchasing database as it relates to "open orders."
• Continuously evaluate vendor performance to avoid shipping delays, stockouts, and to ensure the quality of goods and services, in accordance with SCM’s Total Cost principles.
• Build and sustain high-quality relationships with all vendors.
• Interact with other sections within Supply Chain (Logistics, Warehouse, Inventory Control & Customs) and Finance (Accounts Payables, Treasury).
• Regularly report the status of expediting activities to the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Supervisor or his/her designate.
• Recommend measures to improve the quality of service, efficiency of the department, and work activities.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
• Diploma in Supply Chain Management or designate Certificate in Procurement and Supply Management
• 3-5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management
• Responsible purchasing/buyer/materials experience in a mining environment
• Highly developed working knowledge of purchasing systems and applications (SAP, Oracle, or Guide-Ti)
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting, procurement, and basic mechanical and electrical applications
• Proficiency in IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work either independently or as part of a team
• Time management & work prioritization skills
• Must possess high ethical and professional standards in all dealings
• Ability to organize, set priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage distractions.
• Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and pay close attention to details
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal in English
