Job Description: HR Coordinator (Onsite at Customer Location)
Position Summary
The HR Coordinator will provide human resources support for GFA Alabama, Inc. employees working onsite at a customer facility. This role serves as the primary HR contact at the location, ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable labor laws. The HR Coordinator will manage employee relations, support recruitment and onboarding, track compliance, and serve as a liaison between the customer’s site leadership and GFA Alabama, Inc. corporate HR.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
• Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinating interviews.
• Conduct new hire orientations, ensuring completion of I-9/E-Verify, tax, and company policy forms.
• Facilitate customer-required orientations and safety training.
Employee Records & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
• Track certifications, licenses, training renewals, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations as well as customer-specific requirements.
Timekeeping & Payroll Support
• Assist with employee timekeeping and attendance tracking.
• Review timesheets for accuracy and submit corrections for payroll processing.
• Serve as a resource for payroll inquiries.
Employee Relations
• Act as the first point of contact for HR questions, concerns, and policy clarifications.
• Support employee engagement and promote a positive work environment.
• Escalate complex employee relations matters to the HR Manager.
Customer-Site Partnership
• Ensure all 3PL employees follow customer site policies (safety, security, conduct).
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and OSHA recordkeeping.
• Prepare workforce reports (attendance, headcount, turnover) for customer and company leadership.
Administrative Duties
• Schedule and coordinate training sessions.
• Process employee changes including promotions, transfers, and separations.
• Maintain HR documentation in a secure and organized manner.
• Support HR and compliance audits.
Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience, preferably in a logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of HR policies, labor law compliance, and OSHA requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS/timekeeping systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Work Environment
• Based on site at the customer’s facility.
• Fast-paced warehouse/logistics environment requiring frequent employee interaction.
• May require occasional travel to corporate office or training sites.
