About this role

Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, the Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, robust financial controls and statutory and regulatory compliance. The Financial Controller will manage on a day-to-day basis the accounts team and promote best practice in finance governance and reporting. The role is based in Kettering with regular visits to our business in Keysoe, Bedfordshire.

Principal Accountabilities

· Produce and provide monthly Management Accounts and daily/weekly department P&L to set deadlines

· Carry out month-end and year-end close processes.

· Collaborate with other teams, coaching and sharing knowledge and experience by demonstrating approachability to

bring about new ideas/working practices.

· Carry out control account reconciliations especially supplier accounts

· Overseeing exchange rate conversions for all foreign currencies on a daily basis, planning and purchase of US

dollars, either by spot rate or by contracts held.

· Update and monitor bank accounts incorporating invoices sales and stock levels

· Produce monthly payroll, file PAYE return, end of year return and P11d.

· To complete and file VAT return to HMRC, and file annual return to Companies House.

· Check all insurance policies, make sure they are accurate and up-to-date; make insurance claim on behalf of the

Company as and when required.

- Any ad-hoc project and duties.

Role Competencies - expected abilities/skills required

Essential

· Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)

· At least 3 years of post-qualified experience

· Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling skills.

· Problem solving skills

Desirable

· A business degree

· Experience working in the following industries: accountancy practice, medical devices manufacturing; hospitality,

restaurant & hotel; sports event.

· Sage 200 experience
