Enable New Zealand is a Crown-owned entity on a mission; to support disabled people and their whānau to live everyday lives in their communities. We do this by effectively managing access to equipment, modifications and information services for disabled people and their whānau on behalf of Disability Support Services (DSS) – Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). With our head office centrally located in Palmerston North, we deliver services to thousands of New Zealanders each year as Aotearoa's largest disability equipment provider.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

We're looking for a Retail Assistant to join our EASIE Living team on a fixed-term part-time basis until June 2027. The hours of work will be Mondays, 8am to 5pm, with additional hours as and when required to assist with covering staff leave or other commitments. This is a varied, customer-focused role where you'll help people find the equipment, products, information, and support they need to live as independently as possible.

Working within our Retail Store and Demonstration Centre, you'll provide outstanding customer service, assist with product sales and equipment hire, process transactions, maintain store presentation, and support customers to access relevant community services and resources. You'll play an important role in creating a welcoming, informative, and positive experience for everyone who visits EASIE Living.

Ngā mahi haepapa | Role responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and practical advice on assistive products and services

• Assist with retail sales, stock management, merchandising, and store presentation

• Process sales transactions and maintain accurate customer records

• Support equipment hire services and booking administration

• Build positive relationships with customers, whānau, suppliers, and community organisations

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and customer-focused environment

You'll hit the ground running in this role if you have previous retail or customer service experience, strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help others. Experience using point-of-sale systems and confidence with technology will be an advantage.
