• Having 48 college credit hours -or- Paraprofessional Certificate from Oklahoma State Board of Education -or- take and Pass the Paraprofessional Test with at least a Bronze Level
• Classroom preparation: Setting up the classroom for lessons, helping with materials, and keeping the classroom clean and organized
• Student support: Working with individual students and small groups, helping with special needs, and monitoring behavior
• Lesson planning: Assisting with planning and implementing lesson plans and activities
• Classroom management: Helping to maintain order in the classroom, and intervening when necessary
• Communication: Communicating with the teacher about student needs, and attending meetings
• Professionalism: Displaying ethical and professional behavior, and protecting student confidentiality
• School participation: Participating in school activities, such as parent nights and home visits
• Meal preparation: Helping with meal preparation, including ordering food, cutting fruit and vegetables, and setting the table
• Cleaning: Assisting with basic cleaning duties, such as dusting, washing equipment, and cleaning painting boards
