ABOUT THE ROLE

As Cuso enters its 65th year, it is poised to launch a new national campaign aimed at raising awareness of Cuso’s work and engaging Canadians on important discussions regarding International Cooperation, International Aid, and Canada’s role in these spaces. This multi-channel campaign will encourage individuals, industry leaders, and community leaders to re-think how Canadians (and Canadian organizations) can support meaningful social change and equality around the globe.

This role requires a leader with a broad base of Communications, Public Engagement, and Fundraising experience who has strong project management skills, ability to motivate teams towards results, and is capable of integrating data-driven decision making with the creative needs of truly engaging national campaign.

Under the direction of the Director, Engagement, the National Campaign Manager will be responsible for managing campaign development, including messaging, audience segmentation, and strategic market placement. Once the campaign plan is in place, this role will be charged with leading a cross-departmental team to execute strategies, monitor performance, and recommend/implement strategic adjustments when necessary. The National Campaign Manager will ensure all team members are motivated to work towards shared goals which include: increasing Cuso’s overall brand awareness, engaging new supporters in Cuso’s mission and the importance of International Development, diversifying Cuso’s supporter base, as well as supporting sustainable funding towards Cuso’s innovative programs for generations to come.

A strong understanding of issues related to international cooperation, international aid, social justice, equity and building economic resiliency is an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the development of a multi-channel, multi-audience nationwide engagement campaign related to International Cooperation and Canada’s role within that space (i.e. people, organizations, and leaders).

• Work with a variety of stakeholders to develop core messaging and thought leadership resources supported by research, sector best practice, and Cuso’s experience in the field.

• Develop and implement strategies to engage new individuals and organizations, in both traditional and non-traditional spaces (online and in-person).

• Articulate a comprehensive campaign plan which includes email marketing, digital engagement, media (earned and paid), thought leadership events, campaign calendar, organic and created campaign moments, diverse audience segmentation and messaging, all towards lead generation and donor conversion.

• Oversee the implementation, administration, budget, and overall accountability of the national visibility campaign.

• Manage campaign budget and ensure expenditures are compliant and aligned with goals.

• Utilize data analytics tools to measure and analyze the performance of campaign activities.

• Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

• Mobilize, manage, and coordinate cross-departmental campaign team members to execute plan, including senior staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment across all levels (Marketing & Communication, Graphic Design & Branding and Fundraising, including additional Program Development, Senior Leadership and CEO inputs as needed).

• Edit and review all campaign products, ensuring high-quality, captivating visual content.

• Lead campaign related events, including Corporate, Community, and Leadership outreach activities.

• Stay current on trends and developments within International Cooperation spaces, within Canadian leadership spaces and the Government of Canada’s evolving global strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, international development, non-profit management, business management, or a related field. In lieu of formal education, equivalent working experience in these areas will also be considered.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading multi-channel engagement campaigns and/or fundraising campaigns within the nonprofit sector.

• Strong track record of developing and implementing successful engagement and lead generation campaigns.

• Strong, innovative & inclusive management skills.

• Strong ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English is required. Fluency in French and/or Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in these languages is desired.

• Knowledge/experience related to fundraising strategies, campaigns and donor journeys is strongly recommended.

• Strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media and email marketing, is required.

• Experience monitoring and evaluating digital analytics and determining strategic adjustments as needed.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing creative and collaborative teams.

• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

• Passion for international development and mission with a commitment to making a positive impact.

• Prior experience working with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools, e.g., Raisers Edge and Luminate Online & CMS (Content Management Systems), as well as WordPress or Web Content Management Systems, is considered a strong asset.
